The strategy of former President Obama for economic recovery so far has been to punish those who have worked hard to achieve success in this Land of Opportunity by sacrificing and saving and swallowing their pride again and again in order to invest honest sweat into future reward, and give the fruit of their hard labor to the leeches, the lazy, the indolent, and, yes, the stupid.
It is difficult to envision how such a long-range strategy would work. The thinking seems to go this way; “Let’s take everything that has made the United States a world leader in innovation, production, and benevolence, trash it, and replace it with an economic system that has failed repeatedly and miserably in numerous countries around the world.”
Yeah! That should work!
You can hate big business and free markets all you want, and there’s no denying that greed and corruption abound, but without them there would be no jobs and no middle class at all. There would be no wealth for ANYONE. These are the guys that hire, and they can’t hire when they’re taxed out of business.
In my short 57 years on this planet I’ve known rich people and poor people from all over the world and my experience has been that some of the poorest have been the greediest, and some of the richest have been the most generous. I spent a lot of my youth hating rich people until one day, in a rare moment of lucidity, I sat down and asked myself, “Why?”
I couldn’t think of a single reason that would apply across the board. The closest I could come was that I just knew that the “rich” were a bunch of a**holes, except for the ones that I knew personally. Those were the exceptions and they were O.K. Most of the ones that I knew to be jerks were not jerks because they were rich, they would have been jerks no matter what their family’s income.
We have this concept of the “spoiled rich kid” who never had to work for a thing in his life and believes that the world owes him whatever he wants. Well, through the Liberals’ creeping socialism which now has been given voice in the highest office of our land we now have created the “spoiled poor kid” who never has to work for a thing in his life and believes that the world owes him whatever he wants.
How did we move from the idea that grew a nation, “He who does not work does not eat,” to the bizarre notion that every good thing in life is now a “right?”
I have a right to a job with a living wage? I have a right to own my own home? I have a right to the best medical care in the world? No you don’t. As much as I wish at least the last of those were true, NO YOU DON’T.
What you have is an inalienable right as a human being to the same opportunities to climb the ladder of success as every other human being. Did you get that all you shiftless sponging parasites sitting in your grass-induced daze staring blankly your new high-def plasma big screen television paid for by the sweat of someone else’s honest labor? You have the right to CLIMB the ladder; you do NOT have an inalienable right to drape your coat over the top rung.
What America has always promised and has always delivered is the right to climb that ladder. When that right was denied because of sex, WE CHANGED THE LAWS. When that right was denied because of race, WE CHANGED THE LAWS. America went from being like every other country in the world in suppression of women, to being the leader in the liberation of women. We went from being like every other country in the history of the world in slave labor, to leading the world in the eradication of slavery.
What former president Obama and his thug-ridden administration have yet to learn is that you can’t make the poor rich by making the rich poor. It has been tried and retried and it has always failed, and it will always fail. The Big B.O. promised not to continue Bush’s failed policies (without of course showing how those policies had actually failed, since many were overwhelmingly successful) and instead to promote policies that have failed on a world-wide scale. If that’s not a Liberal plan, what is?
I have been already corrected, by the way, for calling our Beloved Bleeder “former President Obama.” I make no apologies, but I must explain that referring thusly to His Travesty gives me a modicum of hope for the future. It’s all the hope I’ve got right now. It is my "Audacity of Hope," and THAT, I trust, even he would understand.
